MLTIC (read as M-L-Tick) or Malaysian Legal and Tax Information Centre is a web portal on Malaysian law and tax. It provides live updates of Malaysian legal and tax developments. This first-of-its-kind website in Malaysia makes available the full original text of selected Malaysian legal and tax developments – legal news, legislation, judgments, regulatory, events, books and articles, and products and services – free of charge on the Internet.
MLTIC has special sections for students (who are doing law, accounting, business or related courses) and the general public (who are interested in simplified explanations to current developments in law and tax).
MLTIC allows its users to receive (a) daily and/or weekly e-mail alerts, (b) syndication of updates by way of RSS feeds, and (c) mobile alerts on landmark developments. It also allows the users to search its archives for a stipulated period of time.
The information provided by MLTIC is expected to benefit a number of people including legal and tax practitioners, corporate counsels, accountants, auditors, company officials (directors, senior officers, risk and compliance officers, company secretarial officers), judicial and other court officers, professional bodies, students and faculty members of law and business faculties, government departments, statutory and regulatory bodies, enforcement officers including police and customs, small businesses and the general public.
MLTIC, an initiative inspired by ‘free access to law’ movements elsewhere, is owned and operated by Muttath Knowledge Management Consultancy and Allied Services Pvt Ltd (Muttath India), a company incorporated in India. Muttath India operates in Malaysia through Muttath Knowledge Management Services Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian incorporated company. |
